Our Mission

We Build the organizational capability – the attitudes, knowledge, skills and resources – of Government to put sustainable development into practice through their policies and work programme

Our Approach

We aim to address this knowledge gap and move organizations from SDGs alignment to SDGs action – from thinking about the SDGs as an add-on to what business gets done to how all business gets done.

Our Vision

We wish businesses to account to ensure that, in everything it does, it properly balances the needs of society, the economy and the environment on which we all rely and ensure a better quality of life.

What is Sustainable Development?

In September 2015, United Nations Member States adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development to eradicate poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity by the year 2030. The 2030 Agenda includes 17 SDGs and 169 targets. The SDGs apply to all countries and integrate the 3 dimensions of sustainable development: social, economic, and environmental. The pledge to leave no one behind is central to the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs. Less than 3 months after the 2030 Agenda was adopted, parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change adopted the Paris Agreement, including the goal to limit global temperature rise this century to well below 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels and to pursue efforts to limit the temperature increase to 1.5 degrees Celsius. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (and associated targets and indicators) are the world’s blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. They address the global challenges we face including poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, and peace and justice. The SDGs creating space and opportunities for new ways of working towards solutions, including by working collaboratively with a broader range of partners and constituencies.
